Thursday Dating App Review

A new(ish) app called Thursday has been pulling attention away from the big 5 dating apps - and the concept behind this one is just dazzling. After a dating photoshoot in a lush location around London, this app might be your very next stop.

What better way to nudge the apathetic coasters in the dating space than to provide a clear consequence… you will lose ALL your matches at midnight. It’s salty and its brave, and we love it.

Especially since your only opportunity to match with someone began that very same day. 24 hours to lock someone down otherwise they are lost. In London that kind of wake up call is welcome - especially if your profile is looking good and you want to get out there and date.

Is Thursday a hookup app?

Nah, I mean i’m sure it happens but that’s not the focus here. It’s encouraging spontaneity and nudging its uses to be more proactive with communication - beyond this adults will be adults.

Is Thursday dating app good?

This cold and curt take on the genre could be labelled as frivolous, and it doesn’t quite nail everything it tries, but Thursday is a nice look at what the newer dating apps on the block are trying to do to grab a slice of the pie.

Also the sense of urgency they wanted to instil is really there. Especially with the countdown alerts and reminders. If someone likes you they will usually want to respond fast since the clock is ticking.

How to use the Thursday App

The deets: you download the app and provide some data, you looked kinda hot in your Klick Me photoshoot so no problems uploading those sublime portraits of yours as you would any other app. On Thursdays it wakes up...

You then have just one day to message and chat and match with new people.

What is not so good about Thursday?

There are events you can buy tickets for and places you can invite people to, although these do not seem to be a highlight for many people.

We are not quite sure why Thursday was the chosen day here over a Friday or Saturday??

I’m sure there’s a reason (likely linked to the events they try to push in the app) but I do feel there would have been more steam for people to let loose when rolling into a weekend.

Locations of potential matches are also displayed around you so you can actually chat to a local. A feature that seems sporadic in the other apps.

Is Thursday dating free?

You’re restricted to 10 matches or likes, after that you can pay to get more with prices starting at £9.99.

Better than Tinder?

It needs fine tuning but innovation is the real winner here and the people getting dates are doing it faster than ever. If you nab yourself a date check out my other post on where in London to go for a great time.

Should I try the Thursday app?

This app kinda rocks, I like the fact that there is no cop out solution to losing your matches, you really lose them, so you’re more likely to get a quick response from the person your chatting to.

Your getting to have fun and converse without the arduous wait for a message back - and who wants that.
