Feeld App Review 2023

Another new home for your snappy new dating photoshoot pictures might be an innovative and progressive free dating app for couples and singles called Feeld

Founded in London in 2014 by Dimo Trifonov and Ana Kirova and previously named 3nder, the Feeld app has strived to differentiate itself from the more common dating apps like Tinder and Bumble by ingratiating with those who are looking for more open relationships and alternative dating.

From polyamory to swingers, this accessible fusion of open-minded dating for singles and couples has always been a welcome space in the swiping community.

We’ve spent some time entangling ourselves in the experience and we do see the potential and longevity in not only this dating app but the ubiquity of this somewhat niche category.

What is alternative dating?

This is a broad field but it encapsulates people who might be more open minded about what they are looking for. It can involve:

  • Ethical non-monogamy

  • Virtual threesomes

  • Open relationships

  • Fetish and kink exploration

  • BDSM

  • Group connections

  • LGBTQ+

There’s nothing here that handcuffs you (so to speak) to a particular taste or trait or preference, in fact the idea here is to explore and possibly find new ones.

How does the Feeld app work?

One of the unique things about Feeld is the ability to join the app with your partner, allowing both of you to search for what might be missing in your relationship.

Be as personal and as expressive as you can when you fill in your bio, this will really matter as the contacts you are about to make will be searching for similarities, desires and connections that they share with you.

You’ll also need to add 6 real photos on Feeld, pro photos are the best way to go as they will be able to capture your most intimate features.

Which photos work best on Feeld?

The selfie is going to leave you behind on this and many other apps. We have detailed what we consider to be some of the best dating app photos but if you need a good session with a proper photographer check out our pricing section for the latest offers.

If you are already in a relationship then couples photos are not mandatory but they can always help to show off the spark that already exists in your current relationship.

Singles can also try finding deeper ways to express themselves in their pictures, as this will further help them hone in on what they may be looking for.

Is Feeld a hookup app?

The focus here is a bit more intimate than fishing for hook-ups. Most on Feeld are looking to fulfil certain desires that are perhaps more specific and adventurous, and although many of those desires may be sexual in nature it seems the app's goals are still centered on creating lasting relationships.

How is the sign-up process for Feeld?

There are over 20 different sexuality and gender identity options when you sign up for Feeld. This is a huge step in the right direction for the slow moving progress of inclusion and accessibility across all dating apps.

Is Feeld free?

The free elements of the Feeld app are listed below:

  • Sign up and registration

  • Location and distance preferences

  • Matching and infinite chatting

  • The ability to ‘like’ a profile without actually swiping, they won’t see it unless they like you back, which is kinda cool.

Beyond this you have the option to become a Majestic member on a paid membership. This unlocks new features like:

  • Discover those who have liked you

  • Hide your pictures from anyone you have not connected with

  • Hide your profile from your facebook friends

Many of the good experiences to be had on the app can be done on the free tier without becoming too egregious.

Can you use Feeld anonymously?

When you first sign up you’ll be asked to provide an imaginary name, there are advantages and disadvantages to this as we all know but it does encourage people to be more open about what they may be looking for.

Can your partner see your messages on Feeld?

Your messages remain private to you. None of your connections or chat histories will be open for the other to see. Phew!

Is Feeld popular in the UK?

The rising membership numbers for Feeld are very strong. In 2022 they were experiencing a monthly increase of over 250% for active users.

Heralding 700,000 connections made each month the popularity of the app is still growing. So yes.

Is Feeld any good?

The typical penny pinching and male trapping antics that we have found in so many other apps don’t seem to exist here.

It’s definitely something that has a place in the world of online dating and we’re hoping this finds more of a place in the mainstream flow.

Although there are some downsides, there's no desktop version of the app, which is made more frustrating by the fact that the app itself can be seriously buggy at times.

There is also the ongoing problem of the smaller user base which can leave you with fewer options.

How to be successful on Feeld

Perseverance is typically the key with the more niche dating apps. Understand that you may need some time to settle into the feel of things before diving in. Also not everyone will be as open or honest about everything so caution is still advised.

Even if you are dating as a couple you’ll still want to meet in public places and get a good idea of who you’re meeting before jumping to the sack.

After spending time on the app we do feel like this gets a thumbs up 👍 There are still some things we would like to see added (and taken away) but with such strides taken in the progressive and broadening market of online dating, Feeld will hopefully stick around for a long time.
